Tribute to Juan MacLean Drummer, Jerry Fuchs
Juan MacLean will DJ a benefit show in memory and in tribute to friend, band mate and legendary drummer Jerry Fuchs, who passed away in an unfortunate accident in the early hours of November 8. The show will take place at Mezzanine on November 20th in San Francisco. The show will also feature a DJ set with Parallels. Promoters have decided to turn all profits from the evening over to Jerry’s family.

Live Review of Daedelus, James Pants & Free The Robots
As Daedelus set up his Monome box, it was clear of the three DJ he understood what it takes to perform. Dressed in a ruffled white shirt, with a thin tie, and wearing a suit jacket, Daedelus, better know as Alfred Darlington, has a presence and allure. His use of the Monome box could be extremely boring. He’s just pressing buttons. Like his embellished style, as Daedelus performs he over emphasizes his hand movements, creating a mystique that he’s pushing the buttons really fast, and it’s a workout (though I imagine most of his sweat was from the suit and tie).

Recorded with heralded UK producer Alan Moulder (My Bloody Valentine, Smashing Pumpkins, Nine Inch Nails), Cosmic Egg is a follow-up to the band's 2006 self-titled debut, which included "Woman," the 2007 Grammy winner for Best Hard Rock Performance.

Emily Wells: Live at Cafe Du Nord
For those unfamiliar with Emily Wells, she is a classically trained violinist whose passion for classical music is equaled with her passion for hip hop. Her songs are built upon layers of loops of kids' toy instruments (tiny pianos, and small xylophones), a violin, vocal effects, a bass, and drums. During her live set she is typically accompanied by her drummer, Sam Halerman and bassist, Joey Reina. Her styles range in comparisons from CocoRosie, to Citizen Cope, to Miri Ben-Ari, to Esthero, which if you understand those references, is a wide range.
