Song of the Day 8/25/08: Rafter - Juicy
If you know a couple that's a) relentlessly silly, b) inhumanly kind and c) totally fucking perfect for each other - the type of match where basking in the glory of their flawless relationship far overrides the jealousy stemming from your inability to piece one together for yourself - then you already understand the beauty of "Juicy" by Rafter. Nifty folk music and weirdtronics come together so effortlessly that it makes you want to vomit rainbows. I'm serious - the guitar is blissfully chipper, and if the strange faces we all make to ourselves in the mirror had noises to accompany them, it would sound something like the synthetic throat interlude that gallops across the midsection. To say this is the feel good jam of the summer is a little simplistic - it preaches carpe diem et al., lest ye die bored and alone - but the tone is downright inspiring, dammit! So, about that lasting relationship we can't quite piece together - it'll probably turn out to be easier than we think, once we nail the zen of it. Live for your blessings or they won't happen.
