Song of the Day 7/15/08: Rainbow Arabia - Omar K

Look for Rainbow Arabia to hit the hype circuit in the next couple months. These relative unknowns from Los Angeles hit a musical vein that's never been handled so well before: dirty, metallic synthesizers mixed with some wicked eastern percussion and stringed instrumentation. Check "Omar K" - the backdrop electronics jive well with the electro trend that's sweeping the music world, but that nasty shaker / tambourine / hand drum beat is what gives the music its real flair. These guys are my favorite find in the past couple of months.
