Song of the Day 5/30/08: The Chap - They Have A Name
Everyone loves a band that can flash a sense of humor and lay down some genuinely sweet music to go with it - think Hot Chip or !!!'s weird delivery. It isn't a stretch to compare The Chap to either of those two acts - they've got the same endearing, lighthearted (and a little strange) twist on their music. "They Have A Name" features vocalist Johannes von Weizsacker repeating the words "hearthrob" and "dancefloor" over and over and over, like maybe a party will appear in his living room if he chants the mantra long enough. This is catchy as hell, and it's easy to imagine them killing a show with this to end the encore.
