The PInk Mountaintops: Can You Do That Dance?
"Can You Do That Dance?"
Stephen McBean is a mountain man... not only in his musical endeavors - Black Mountain and The Pink Mountaintops - but in his origins and look. Seeing as he hails from the western coastal city of Vancouver, BC, and it's super natural beauty, enhanced by a panorama of mountains, but he has also adopted a Grizzly Adamesque look.
In "Can You Do That Dance?', from the 2004 release - 'Pink Mountaintops', this mountain man is sounding tired - his bleary questioning vocal insistent against the Arab Strap sexual vibe, the Kings of Leon-like drawl, and Kurt Cobain's guitar tone from 'The Man Who Sold The World'.
McBean gets able support from friends and associates on the recording produced by Colin Stewart - who has recorded in studio and live performances by such artists as The Walkmen, Songs: Ohia, Destroyer, and P:ano.
