BioCordovan is Los Angeles-based multi-instrumentalist and producer Greg Reeve who creates a fresh blend of future jazz. Melodically and harmonically inspired by the greats like Gil Evans and Charles Mingus and rhythmically driven by cutting edge electronic music like downtempo, broken beat, and hip hop, Cordovan music aims to appeal to a wide audience - it doesn't just groove, but rolls with sophisticated layers of melody and texture. It's gritty and sparkly at the same time, classy but with teeth.
Reeves calls on years of gigging and recording experience as a bassist in genres as varied as jazz, rock, and reggae to inspire his music. Cordovan tracks are a combo of fat and groovy electric bass, innovative and funky drums, and lush keyboards and orchestration.
Cordovan original tracks have been featured on compilations from several labels including Lunaticworks, Shadow and Bastard Jazz. Reeves has played DJ sets across the globe. Other releases include production of artists including abstract-hip hopper Cills on Refinery Records and remixes of dance artists such as Verbrilli Sound on Canada's Upstairs Recordings.
When he's not producing his originals and remixes, Reeves creates music and sound design for TV, film, and interactive projects as Cordovan Music. His impressive list of clients includes Nike, Pottery Barn and Amnesty International.
This self-titled release is Cordovan’s first full length original album. This is music for your head, heart and feet.
