David Last is a musician and visual artist living in Brooklyn New York. Since 2004, he's been making odd funky music for respected indies and playing shows here and there internationally. His recent shows outside of New York include a 10 date tour of Japan, festival show in the UK, music commissioned to be performed for people and bats in an underground cavern in Japan, and a sound+video installation in Amsterdam. His organic reggae influenced electronic music releases for The Agriculture label have become the best selling records on that label, garnering high praise from tough to please critics and gaining a strong cult following in Europe, the States and Japan. In 1996 in NYC he began making books with the art books collective Booklyn, while playing drums and electronics with bands and at a pirate radio station on the lower east side. Since the mid 90s, his visual artwork was sold to and shown by MOMA and the Metropolitan Museum of Art, and in 2004 he curated an international audio video compilation for Lincoln Center.
He is currently releasing funky dancefloor tracks for techno labels in the USA such as Goosehound and Microcosm Music, and of course, Unfoundsound.
