Philadelphia's Lefty's Deceiver take their name from a fishing lure. That should answer a bunch of questions right there. Over the course of several years the band has released two full-length compact discs. The first, 45:00, was released on their own Plot Twist label. The second full-length, Conversations on Favored Nations came out in February 2001 through Indiana's Happy Couples Never Last.

To mark the end of an era [the departure of LD bassist Ed Hogarty to his other band The Bigger Lovers], Lefty's Deceiver recorded a six-song mini-album for My Pal God entitled Process Junior. This record was released on November 12th, 2001. On May 5th, 2003 Lefty's Deceiver released their third album, Cheats.
