A diminutive guitar hero playing instrumental compositions solo on an acoustic might be an unlikely thing these days, but Kaki King, an inventive and thoughtful musician, is all that. A lifetime of dedication to the instrument has enabled her to develop a wildly unique and highly listenable technique. That same dedication has also led her on a path that included: street busking in New York City subways; performing with the Blue Man Group; and now, a life as a touring musician playing in large halls. Her vast knowledge of musical theories, artists and concepts, as well as a strong inner compass and a life rich in experience, gives her a wisdom that is remarkable for such a young and idealistic performer.
