Dead Disco formed in Leeds in August 2005. Following a handful of live dates the band went into the studio with producer James Ford of Simian Mobile Disco, and contributed a track to Leeds label Dance to the Radio's compilation. Soon after they released their debut single 'The Treatment' on Manchester label High Voltage, which sold out in days and enjoyed fantastic reviews and national radio plays.

Building on this success the band toured the UK, selling out home town shows, and released 'City Place' as a download on In the summer they were asked to perform live on Radio 1 by Steve Lamacq, and soon after played Leeds Festival.

In September they released 'Automatic' as the last ever single on legendary indie label Fierce Panda, accompanied by their first video directed by Saam Farahmand, which has now also sold out.

The Metronomy remix of 'The Treatment', which originally featured on the debut B side has recently appeared on the new Kitsune Maison compilation 3. After an extremely busy year the girls have been spending time writing and recording new tracks, and now they are back with a new release to come in May and a new set of tour dates.

"Smouldering, synth-pop noir - last heard sounding this good around the time Blondie ditched punk-rock dives for new-wave dancefloors.... all the best female-fronted pop songs ever ('Atomic', 'Kids In America', anything involving Gwen Stefani), mashed up and sung out by an indie Alison Goldfrapp in a stripy prom dress. better believe it, buddy." - Krissi Murison, NME
