Miguel Mendez was born and raised in the LBC and attended Snoop Dogg's school, Long Beach Polytechnic. Drunk on the funk of the city, he became a drop-out physics major at UC Berkeley, wrote an incredibly long book, and began playing music

He is a guitarist, pianist, producer, and engineer, Miguel has made an incredible record, My Girlfriend is Melting.

Unlike many of his so-called contemporaries, Miguel really sings. His songs are affecting and unaffected. We could talk about Beck, Skip Spence, Elliott Smith, and other similar songwriting heroes, but that would be a waste of time. Miguel Mendez is the real deal.

Miguel has collaborated with all kinds of bad dudes like Farmer Dave (All Night Radio, Beachwood Sparks), Joel & Kevin Morales (Dios Malos), Tiffany Anders, and Sam Jayne (Love As Laughter).
