Bio
As they begin to take over the indie rock scene in New York City and beyond, Cassettes Wont Listen continue to stay on the humble and stay in the studio. Cassettes Wont Listen broke into the scene earlier this year with rave reviews debuting their smash single, Cutting Balloons. The four members, who are the newest signees to Dope Lotus Records, have decided to stay out of their growing spotlight and head back into the studio to finish up their upcoming EP, Nobody's Moving. With influences ranging from Definitive Jux to K Records, the split personalities of each member somehow come together flawlessly when it comes to writing and playing together."We've known each other all our lives, some of us left our hometown and lived completely different lifestyles. We've always been interested in making music so it was only a matter of time before we brought all our individual styles and influences together to form this band" says lead singer Kid Lucci. Other members include Doc Torchaos on drums, Jeh Walker on bass, and Drehke handling keys / programming. Each member grew up together just outside of San Francisco, with some members moving away to New Orleans and New Jersey. Fortunately they were able to reunite in New York City 6 years ago. "We had grown up a lot when we saw each other for the first time. Doc had been in New Orleans and Drehke in New Jersey, so our musical tastes and styles had all been shaped from those certain areas of the country. It took a while to connect on some levels but once we did, we knew we had something" says Kid.
