In the winter of 2003, with twenty some-odd songs in hand, The Race
enlisted Charles Cooper of Telefon Tel Aviv to begin work on a new
record. During the ensuing sessions, songs were turned inside out and
stripped down until essential melodies and structures remained. Exquisitely produced by Cooper, the resulting work stands as a bold and concise statement of a band who has hit its stride. Rose is comprised of two songs from The Race's album If You Can and two additional B-sides from the same sessions.
